This is just your regular rock I washed painted for the garden. It's about two years old and still looks alright. Just your standard acrylic craft paint. I didn't even use a sealer.

I rescued this cane from the trash and painted it all fancy for aunt Mary.

Paintings

I made these for the gang at work for their cabinets.

Sock Monkey

Is this the cutest thing ever or what?! This was Hayden's Christmas gift this past year. I hand sewed everything. The cowboy's vest was cut from a piece of felt and the hat was bought at Michael's. The instructions are on this website http://www.supersockmonkey.com/catalog/howtomake.html

Crochet beanie hats/ flowers

These were made just like the pink hat below. The flowers are quick simple ways to embellish any project. To make them, ch 5 and slip stitch in to a ring. SC 10 in center of loop. For first rd 3 SC in the first stitch. Then slip stitch in the next loop. 3 SC in the next Stitch followed by a slip stitch in the next one. Continue this all the way around the circle to make 5 leafs of the flower. For variation try experimenting with different numbers of SC's or possible a few Triple Crochet's.

Chore Contract

This was an idea I had to help keep the family united with the needs of the home. It's a contract/chore guidelines. The whole family sits together and reviews what their needs are within the home. It gives a sense of relief for the uptight cleaning nut, and and gives the loosy goosey a steak in the ground helping to keep them on track, making all members of the family happy.

FAMILY CHORE CONTRACT

1.We will be able to have unannounced company without shame.
2.Any co-inhabited area's of the home will be treated with respect for each member of the family utilizing the space.
3.Everyone is responsible for preparing quality meals and cleaning up afterward. Leftovers are to be put away, dishes in the dishwasher, counters cleared and wiped.
4.Pet's eat dinner at 8am and 8pm daily. Whoever is home at this time, or as close as possible to this time is responsible for their bedtime routine of dinner, potty, and kennels.
5.Laundry is to be done as needed. It is never acceptable to leave clean laundry unfolded.
6.Quick cleans are to be done daily. Spend 10 to 15 minutes putting away any clutter. This includes shoes, dishes, laundry, and trash.
7.Our major bi-weekly chores are moping the kitchen, basement, and bathrooms. Vacuuming all carpeted areas including basement and porch. Scrubbing bathrooms. Dusting surfaces. Mowing/weed whacking lawn, maintaining hedges and garden beds. A schedule with slight flexibility will be set up for these chores. I will see to it that they are completed regularly.
8.All mail will be filed in a timely manor by the person by which the letter's are addressed.
9.Prior to each season we will discuss any needs our home has for the upcoming months. A list will be complied, discussed, and a date set for completion of each project. I will make every effort to meet these deadlines without excuse.
10.Chores will be done thoroughly and with love for our family.
11. At the end of each work day and beginning of each off day I promise to meet the needs of my family and home before beginning any personal time or projects for the evening.

I promise to do my absolute best to keep to these guidelines.

Diaper cakes

I made these diaper cakes for the centerpieces at a baby shower. I think they are adorable. I got several different sizes of diapers and white ribbon. The most tedious part is rolling the diapers and tying them with the ribbon. After you have all your diapers individually rolled your ready to start making the layers. In order to keep all the diapers in a nice circle I found that using XXL rubber bands and hair ties worked great as an extra hand. I just kept feeding the diapers into the rubber bands until I got the desired size. Then used the ribbon to tie them all together. Remove the rubber bands and then your ready to add some super cute ribbon. I used fabric pins to adhere the ribbons to the diapers because I couldn't think of anything else that wouldn't damage the diapers. Although, I am sure there has to be something safer out there. Any suggestions?

Water Color Sheepies

These were SO much fun!! It's simply kids watercolor paints on drawing paper.

Crochet hat

I made this hat for my little friend Elaina. It's super simple to make!
Ch 5. Slip stitch it together. SC 10 inside of loop. Next round SC 2 per every 1 stitch for a count of 20. Repeat for next RD for a count of 40. One more time for the next round for a count of 80. Now all you do is finish the hat with rounds of DC.

Sheepdog Jar

I painted this at one of those pottery places. It was my first time, so there are a few things about it I would change but all in all I thought it was really cute. If I remember correctly it was fairly inexpensive. About ten for the pot, and five for the paint. It was loads of fun!
